Born in Taitung, Huang Chu-Ping is a self-taught artist specializing in religious-themed works, including over two-hundred paintings of Sea Goddess Mazu. She wrote Walk with Mazu, one of her several published books, with the aim of helping preserve and promote understanding of Mazu culture.
