Kirsten Han is a Singaporean writer, journalist and activist. She works as Managing Editor of the Asian literary journal Mekong Review, and also runs We, The Citizens, a newsletter covering Singapore from a rights-based perspective. Her first book, The Singapore I Recognise: Essays on home, community and hope, was published in English in September 2023 by Ethos Books; a Chinese translation was published in Taiwan in November 2024 by SpringHill Publishing. Her essay, 'The Silhouette of Oppression', was published by Epigram Books in 2019. Another essay, 'Singapore Will Always Be At War', won the Portside Review Human Rights Essay Prize in 2024.
