Liu Ying is a popular contemporary Taiwanese writer known for her teen romance novels and the author of numerous books. Her representative works include Seven Light Years of Summer Love, Rainy Season, and Right Here Waiting. One of her short stories, "Seventh Day Confession", was shortlisted for the POPO Chinese Writing Awards. Korean rights have been sold for her novel A Prophecy to Love You, which was shortlisted for the Books.com.tw TOP100 works of the year.
